File handling is done by Android.
Downloading is handled by Android.
Files are always downloaded to the /download folder of your device.1 tip: Always use the “download file” option ion the 3dot overflow menu on the attachment to download the file to your device, instead of just tapping the attachent on the bottom of the email message.
What account type (POP/IMAP/Exchange) are you having this issue with?

I can recommend you with "Cloudbacko Pro" software as it basically gives Multi-destination concurrent backup for MS Exchange Server and it gives best backup . Thus to know more about this software leaving a link just check: http://www.cloudbacko.com/microsoft-exchange-server-backup.jsp

You can actually try using "Cloudbacko home" for taking backup of Onedrive. CloudBacko home supports backup of data to Dropbox. I am basically using this software from long time and really satisfied using this software. Leavin a link just check: http://www.cloudbacko.com/free-backup.jsp

I can suggest you with the "Cloudbacko software" actually it can give backup to your photos and videos and with backup you can take backup and with that it helps in restoring also, and you actually try many more other softwares in the market.
