Alias support
For Gmail and Outlook and probably imap accounts, add the ability to send messages using a server confirmed alias. Bonus points for auto loading the account aliases that are defined for Outlook and Gmail.

wow... just installed. Came here to find out "how to alias".
Nope. Boxer lasted about 15mins.
I dont get why this is such a thing. I'm all what Anssi Saari said.
"What's a "server confirmed alias"? I'm looking for identity management, as in "pick a sender name and address". Basically when composing you have a dropdown to pick whatever you want in the email as the sender name and email address. It's like that in Thunderbird and K-9 and Kmail. Basic stuff really.
"I think Aqua Mail can do this to... I'll go check now ;)

IMAP aliases would be brilliant, thanks. I have been looking for an Android mail app that actually supports aliases, and it's surprisingly difficult.

Could we please get this as soon as possible? I really want to use your mail app but since you don't have this feature I'm unable to.

This is very important feature. The same should apply also when forwarding mail from another e-mail address. Additionally should be allowed to be able to edit forwarded/replied mail

Olivier Korn commented
This should be the case when forwarding too.

As we wait for this long planned feature, I'm forced to use Nine for my Exchange mail. I really only want to use one mail app for both business and personal email. Pleeeeease move this along.

Please add this feature. It would be enough to warrant an upgrade.

Yes, I can give you advise on Security issues and storage issues. I am using CloudBacko pro for data storage. Cloudbacko pro have unmatched security solutions. The data saved in CloudBacko pro is secured as comparable to other IT solutions. Cloudbacko encrypts your file names and your data is only stored. This feature can save your data from leakage and other breakdowns.

This missing feature is really the only thing stopping me from switching to Boxer.

So now I'm baffled for two reasons:
1, How is this not standard in Android email apps? As stated by the OP, it's in Samsung's email app, it's also in the free K-9 Mail.
2. How can you change the from address for new messages in Boxer? I see no option for that?
