Unable to click "I want this" (error saying "unable to connect to uservoice").
Definitely need option to remove avatars. If you did, you'd be the best alternative to Newton/cloudmagic

Not everybody likes avatars. I prefer more room in the message list for email titles.

I like Boxer, hate the avatars, need to be able to make them go away
In the meantime, since Boxer can't provide this, I'm moving back to K-9 -

The waste of space is preventing me from using boxer client. Please remove completely or give an option to turn it off.

I agree, these are ugly and a waste of space. I'm pretty sure they're not compliant with Google's Material Design principles.

Huge waste of space. I want to see email, not pictures of people I already know. I can only see 6 messages per screen. I was able to see 16 with my old windows mobile phone/client (and on a smaller/lower res screen)

I too would love the option to allow Avatars to not be displayed. Is this being considered?

Yes this is a must. The avatars are just too big and waste a lot of space.

Or at least ability to make them smaller.

I just realized that, because of the way the multi-select works (the avatar target also acts as the message selector), this will be a bit tough for the developers as it will change a base UI functionality.

Possibly a three-way configuration: Hide avatars, show avatars only for contacts with photos, show avatars.
