Create smart folders (e.g. VIP senders) in app that collect messages from specific senders
This would at least mirror the functionality of the iOS mail app in allowing a folder with messages gathered from specific senders. A general smart folder where rules could be created e.g. "Subject includes..." would be better.

I'd love for Boxer to show me only emails from people in my company or from real people and filter out all of the newsletter stuff automatically. This is the feature I miss from Outlook Mobile the most.
Yes this feature would make me switch to Boxer!
I'd like to automatically apply rules to incoming mails and move then automatically to specific folders.
Or from specific Sub-Folders...

I want incoming mail sorted - and yes it is the only reason to use any program other then standard mail app.

I at least want the same functionality as the default mail app. I keep going back to the default app to look at the VIP view. To compete with the default app, it seems all the functionality of the default app needs to be included.
I like the enhanced functionality suggested by other commenters, too.

I want incoming mail sorted as it arrives into folders. It is the only reason I went looking for email apps other than the iPad default.

Smart folders that learn would be better. Where by Boxer learns what emails the type of emails you want in a particular smart folder, by learning the emails you move into the individual smart folder, like smart folders in gmail work. It would make me come back to boxer again. Only reason I can see this not working is because Boxer partners with Sanebox which has some of the same functionality as this requirement, but for a yearly subscription fee.

Hi, I'd love to be able to assign emails from a particular service like TaskRabbit to a designated VIP folder for view and further separate no-reply emails from those from a task poster.
